I “drank the Kool-Aid” and joined CFA in March 2014 and was instantly hooked! I had previously gone to a “globo gym” and was tired of aimlessly walking around, wondering what machine to do next. I had been introduced to CrossFit before, but thought there was no way that I could ever do that stuff. I had no experience lifting weights. I could barely do a push-up. And a pull-up was something I could only dream of doing. After months of talking myself out of trying it, I finally decided to go. I’ll never forget the first day I walked through the doors of CrossFit Advanced. I was greeted by one of the owners and instantly saw how welcoming everyone was.

A few years later, I have become a better person all around. I have gotten stronger, faster and a lot healthier! There is nothing more I love than walking into CFA and lifting heavy weights and being around people that constantly put a smile on my face.

As great as the physical changes are, I feel that the people I have met are even more amazing. Not once has anyone said anything negative to me about not being able to do a certain movement or lift a certain weight. It’s the total opposite: nothing but encouragement from members and coaches. The coaches are willing to take time out of their busy schedules to help you master a skill or lift, which means a lot. And that brings me to the camaraderie of CFA. We’re all there for the same reason, and there’s nothing but positivity radiating from everyone around you. The moment I walk in the doors, I am constantly smiling, laughing and joking around.

I’ve made lifetime friendships inside those doors, and joining CFA is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
